Ignite your US patriotic spirit this memorial day, the 4th of July, Presidents Day and throughout the year with a gorgeous USA patriotic sensory bottle.
Using red, white and blue stars, this sensory bottle will help your kids celebrate, learn to self-regulate and calm down.
I have a confession, I’m not actually American. I’m actually Australian.
I’ve created this patriotic sensory bottle for my American friends, because I’ve had a few requests for such content.
I also see it as a great opportunity to learn more about celebrations and commemorations from other countries.
Sensory bottles are wonderful fun to make and have great calming benefits for both adults and children.
You can also make then whatever theme you like!
To make your own US patriotic themes sensory bottle, you’ll need –
- Plastic Sensory Bottle(I use an 8oz. VOSS water bottle
- 1 bottle (5oz.) Elmer’s Clear Glue
- Red, Silver, and Blue Star Confetti
- Water
- Super glue
As you can see, the ingredients to make one of these sensory bottles is quite easy to come by.
Of course you can substitute the stars for glitter or whatever you have available.
USA Patriotic sensory bottle
Begin by pouring all of the glue into the bottle.
The glue helps to make the starts slowly move throughout the bottle.
Next, add the desired amount of star confetti. For this project, I used about 2tbsp.
Fill the remainder of the bottle with warm water.
You’re almost done!
Close the bottle well. Secure the lid to the bottle with the super glue.
Shake up the contents well until the stars move around slowly and freely.
As you can see, the slow movement of the stars navigating through the water and glue is absolutely beautiful and oh so calming.
Why are sensory bottles important for development?
There are many big reasons why sensory bottles are great for children (and adults) and those reasons can vary depending on the individual. Here are just a few reasons why sensory bottles are good –
- eye coordination and tracking
- matching colours visually
- recognising shapes while in motion
- descriptive language and vocabulary development
- sink and floating
- observation skills
- and so much more!
If you’re wanting to learn more about the benefits, I suggest popping over to Dayna from Lemon, Lime Adventures.
You can also take these with you in the car or when you’re feeling like your child (or yourself) need something soothing to look at.
Would your child like one of these?

Hi Deanna. You can get all the bits and pieces that you need from a supermarket or craft supply store. Hope that’s helpful.
