If you’re looking for a simple cooking activity to do with the kids then don’t forget this golden idea. Try these simple crazy face biscuits kids can decorate, and even better, eat soon afterwards.

Simple crazy face biscuits kids can decorate

My girls really love to get into the kitchen and make something they can eat without having to wait for it to bake in the over on set in the fridge. These crazy biscuits were saving grace for me when they were both tired and getting grumpy at each other. They also really remind me of my childhood and making them with my mum for parties and birthday celebrations.

These crazy face biscuits are such a great idea because children can get super creative and the set up is really quick and easy.

Recommended age: 2 years +
(Strict and active supervision required)

To make these crazy biscuits you will need –

  • Sweet biscuit (Marie, Milk Arrowroot biscuits or a Rich Tea biscuit)
  • Icing
  • Food colouring (optional)
  • Lollies and chocolate smarties

These biscuits are ideal for children to decorate themselves.

Begin by making some icing and adding a few drops of food colouring. Your child can then use the back of a spoon to practice spreading the icing over the biscuit. This icing will also hold the decorative lollies in place.

Of course I needed to remind my girls to not lick the spoon as they were decorating. LOL

Kids Food Ideas

I gave the girls the option to use the smarties and choose from a bag of mixed lollies. Inside the mixed bag were funny ‘teeth’ and snakes, which were perfect for making a mouth.

The girls were able to get create with all the other options.
