Simple and easy weetbix slice recipe kids can help make

Weetbix slice kids can make

I love getting into the kitchen and cooking with Possum (2.5 years) whenever I can. I admit I’m not a fancy cook, but fortunately kids are far from fussy when it comes to pouring in the flour or mixing everything into a bowl. Cooking is also a great indoor activity.

Here is a delicious sweet slice that uses a simple and common breakfast cereal, which is also very high in fibre. This Weet-Bix slice can be enjoyed by the whole family and become your new favourite recipe to use with your kids.

Recommended age: 2 years +

(Active adult supervision is required on all my activities)

Children gain so much from each cook experience they are involved in. They witness you measure ingredients and begin to learn how combining them together, as a recipe describes,  to create something that is different (and edible). Children are able to learn about various foods and how they impact on their bodies (sweet treats I call ‘sometimes foods’) and the get to know more about textures through sensory exploration.

Cooking with children is simply lots of fun and I hope you’re able to give this simple recipe a try. Don’t forget to consider making some of the other kid-friendly recipes also found on my blog. 🙂

Hi, Just wondering what the measurement is for the flour in this recipe? It says 1 1/2 of something I’m just not sure if it would be cups or tablespoons?
    Thanks,

Thank you SO much Anna!!!! It should read 1 1/2 CUPS of plain flour.
I really appreciate you contacting me so I can fix up that little error. 🙂

Do you know that Weet-Bix now has a gluten free variant?
You just substitute in same quantity – and remember to substitute the other flour with gluten free as well. I have made it recently
