There are so many great ways to include a bit of Halloween fun into your child’s day. Take these fun Halloween mummy apples for example, spooky and delicious.
Halloween is a really fun time of year and I have to admit, judging by all our Halloween ideas, this little Aussie is very much getting into the spirit of it. You can see my other Halloween ideas here.
Inspired by this The Decorated Cookie post, we made these cheeky and fun Halloween mummy apples and they look great in our fruit bowl.
Recommended ages: 3 years +
(Strict and active supervision is always required)
To make these you can use whatever fruit you might have at home, we love eating green apples, so that suited us.
To make these fun Halloween mummy apples, you will need –
- Green apples (or whatever fruit you have at home)
- Googly eyes
- Sticky tape or first aid tape
- Clean gauze
Begin by wrapping your clean gauze around your apple.
I folded our gauze in half, length ways, a few times to create a strip of gauze. This worked well with the size of our fruit.
Secure the gauze with a piece of tape.
Add some fun googly eyes to really make your mummy Halloween apple come to life. We used some double sided sticky tape to help secure it to the apple.
It’s amazing the personalities they have with eyes. Eek!
Once you’re done they will look something (or nothing) like this.
They really are a fun and healthy way to include a bit of Halloween to your fruit bowl. You never know, you might find your child eats more fruit because of it. Win!
N.P. Of course ensure your child knows not to eat the gauze and googly eyes. They should also wash their piece of fruit before eating.
Is this something your child would like at Halloween?
