Valentines Day Frame

February 3, 2013 by Kate 12 Comments

Valentines Day is fast approaching and so I felt it was timely to share an idea with you all.
This beautiful Valentines Day frame would make a beautiful gift from a child to a loved one.
The great news is that it is incredibly easy to do.
To make this frame you will need –
* 1 cardboard frame with heart shape (Spotlight $1.50)
{You could simply make this with two pieces of simple cardboard if needed}
* 3 sheets of tissue paper
* craft glue
* scissors

Simply tear the pieces of paper and collect them in a bowl.
You may wish to cut the pieces but I wanted to have the edges with a torn look.
It’s great to have bits of paper in different shapes and sizes.

Add some craft glue to the surface and place down your first piece.

Continue the process around the frame.
I chose to place the pieces down quite randomly but the choice is yours.
TIP – I highly recommend rubbing some craft glue over each piece that you lay as it keeps it flat.

It might look a little something like this when you are done.

Trim the pieces of paper that you don’t wish to have obscuring the frame area.
Rub another layer of craft glue all over the paper surface.

Give it at least 12 hours to dry before inserting your photograph.
If you have make the frame yourself then you could secure the photo to the back of the cover frame and secure it with the backing board using a hot glue gun.

Your master piece is complete and would look terrific in any room of your place.

when tearing the pieces of paper and teaches them about the gift of giving
and showing love and care for others.
Happy Valentines Day.
