My blog is very important to me and so I’m always sure to only share recipes, craft ideas and products that are nothing short of wonderful. For a bit of a laugh I thought I’d share one of my fails, because I’m always trying to promote the importance of making mistakes and learning from them.
The other day I threw together a bit of cleanser, cornflour and food colouring, mixed it together and set Possum (aged 3 years) and I up for an afternoon of fun face painting. At the very last second I hesitated and thought we should paint our arms first, just in case it stained.
Well it’s really lucky we did because my arm turned various colours from the paint. Honestly, I hate to think what I would have looked like if we did actually use this recipe on my face. Eek! So the lesson is – less is more when it comes to using food colouring in face paint. Of course we continued to use the paint on our arms, it didn’t bother us too much, but glad we didn’t use it as face paint.
One stain that I have actually been happy with using on my face is a lip stain was gifted to me recently by Bella Box. Have you heard of them? They are an Australia beauty company who will post to members a carefully selected box of on-trend beauty products for just $17.95, which is actually only happening for a limited time.
Here is what you can find in their beauty boxes for June. Personally, I have been thoroughly enjoying each of the products I was sent, particularly the lip stain and the Original Source moisturising shower gel. Devine.
Of course the thing I particularly love about BellaBox is the convenience, which is what you want when you’re a busy mum. Shopping with children can be disastrous but when you can be sent a lovely box of beauty products to try at home, it takes the research out of finding what you want more of. So if you’re a mum who appreciates good quality beauty products, or feel you’d like the thrill of being sent some lovely products to try once a month then you might consider becoming a member at BellaBox. You can’t fail.
