Share It Saturday – 10 simple ways to entertain the kids this weekend #2

November 8, 2013 by Kate 3 Comments

You may remember a recent ‘Share It Saturday‘ collection I did called, ‘20 ways to entertain the children this weekend‘. Well it was incredibly popular and so I thought I’d do another one that showcases the many talents of bloggers from all over the world.

Share It Saturday - 10 simple ways to entertain the kids this weekend #2

I decided on the following activities because I felt they would provide great entertainment for the kids and were not heavy in materials, mostly things you’d find around the house.

Lets get started!!!!

Blowing Bubbles
Who doesn’t love blowing bubbles! Pauline from Lessons Learnt Journal reminds us of the sheer joy children get from blowing bubbles in a bowl and how it can be turned into a fun game.
Painting Sticks
How beautiful are these easy wizard wands by Kids Activities Blog!!!
They are so simple to make and will have your children playing make believe before you know it.

Science
Here is a great activity for those children who are more into science than painting by Fantastic Fun and Learning.
It’s a floating egg experiment!

Pretend/Dramatic Play
Kids Activity Blog has a great idea for creating a pretend city using lunch bags and imagination.

Painting
Teaching 2 and 3 Year Olds demonstrates how easy it is to get children to paint with tea bags.
This doubles as a wonderful sensory activity too. Just imagine the smell! 🙂

Using nature
Clever Danya from Danya Banya has an activity that is a nature tree collage.
So simple and has an easy set up.

Fine Motor Skills
Children love to make wearable pieces and these pipe cleaner and straw bracelets
will be popular with many children thanks to Craftulate.

3D Shapes
Creative Play Central created a fun 3D creative challenge for kids.
Isn’t it amazing what children come up with when given the opportunity!

Using Recyclables
Gummy Lump shows off some adorable little monster crafts that children would have a great time making. Cuuuuute!

Chalk
Have a go at our homemade chalk rake by me at Laughing Kids Learn.
It is surprisingly so easy to set up and the kids will play with it for hours.

Thank you to all those who were able to link up their great activities.
Please note that during this busy time of year I may not be able to post on a weekly basis.
I will always, however, try my best.
