Dandelion wishes in a Jar

November 11, 2015 by Kate 4 Comments

These beautiful dandelion puffs are so beautiful. Do you have any in your garden? They can be a lovely decoration when placed in a jar, investigated individually under a microscope or loving offered to a child who might like to make a special wish. Who wouldn’t want some dandelion wishes in a jar?

Dandelion wishes in a jar

Okay, so my garden has been an absolute mass of Dandelions of late. But as I glanced over our garden and seeing the weeds delicate puffs, I can’t help but encourage Possum (aged 3.5 years) to go out and collect them and gently place them in a jar. I pinned this idea by Creative Homemaking to my Pinterest board.

Picking Dandelions in the garden

So next time you find lots of the delicate puffs from Dandelions ask your child to collect them and place them in a jar. It’s a lovely way for your child to learn about how plants spread their seeds for new growth. Personally, Possum and I had lots of fun making wishes with each one.

What would you wish for on a dandelion puff?

I’m not exactly sure, but I would imagine they’d last a vert long time. Maybe years?
