Simple caramel and chocolate tartlet recipe

May 4, 2020 by Kate Leave a Comment

On the 25th April every year I make ANZAC biscuits. As a unique spin on the old classic, this year I decided to make a three ingredient, simple caramel and chocolate tartlet recipe that pays homage to ANZACs on ANZAC day.

Crunchy and simple chocolate and caramel tartlets made with kids and to eat over ANZAC day. Great recipe to make for ANZAC day. #chocolatetartlets #caramel #chocolate #simplerecipe #kidsinthekitchen #anzacdayrecipe #anzacrecipe #anzacdayrecipe #anzacrecipes #anzacbiscuits #anzacbiscuitrecipes #kidscook #tartlets #sweetfingerfood #rustic #deliciousfood #makebykids #simplerecipeforkids #3ingredients #threeingredients

ANZAC day, if you were not aware, is a day that is precious to many Australia’s and New Zealanders. On the 25th of April, every year we remember those who sacrificed in war I.

ANZAC biscuits, were a special treat often sent to soldiers by their wives and contained ingredients that wouldn’t easily spoil and the biscuits kept well during naval transportation.

Simple caramel and chocolate tartlet recipe

To complete these simple caramel and chocolate tartlet recipe, you’ll need –

  • butternut snap biscuits
  • caramel sweetened condense milk
  • melting chocolate (your choice of type)

Begin by placing some butternut snap cookies into a microwave for 30 seconds. This should soften them enough that you can mould them with her fingers (carefully) into a cup shape.

Butternut snap biscuits are a great alternative to the ANZAC day biscuits.

Caramel tarts or simple caramel tartlets.

Mix some caramel condensed milk into a jug until it’s smooth and creamy.

Add a scoop of the caramel mixture to each of the cupped biscuits.

Melt some chocolate, we used dark chocolate, and spoon over the caramel.

You can make the chocolate cover the caramel perfectly by smoothing it over with a spoon, or you can choose to go rustic, as we have.

Place them into a fridge for at least 15 minutes to ensure the chocolate sets hard. Then, enjoy!

As you can see, my husband and children were very excited to make them and eat them once they’d set.
