Free printable children can use to write their Christmas wishes

November 17, 2015 by Kate 2 Comments

It’s hard to believe that Christmas is so close. To help your child get into the spirit and excitement of this wonderful time of year I have created for you a free printable children can use to write their Christmas wishes.
My Christmas wish printable page

At the start of this year I had a goal, which was to create my own printables that I could share with you all. Well it’s November, almost Christmas and here is my first real printable. Phew! I’m going to tick that one off my list of things I’ve achieved this year – Hahaha

This gorgeous little Christmas printable is one I think your child will really love, no matter what their age or ability to write. Children can draw pictures, complete the sentence starter at the top, however they please.

Recommended age: 2 years +

Thinking of a wish for Christmas using free printable

To begin, I asked Possum (aged almost 4 years) what she knew about Christmas. I didn’t want to sway her thoughts any particular way so I asked her what her Christmas wish would be. As expected from any toddler, she had many ideas that involved her receiving things (Lol). Some of the older children using this free printable they might think a little less about themselves and more about their community etc.

Writing a letter to Santa on free Christmas printablePossum was so excited to have a go at writing her Christmas wish on the paper. She knew what she wanted to say, but didn’t know how to do it ‘correctly’. To help her overcome this hurdle I told Possum to do some pretend writing and that instantly gave her the confidence to have a go. It’s a little trick I’ve used with many children that I’ve taught in the classroom.

Drawing and writing to Santa

I was so pleased with Possum’s efforts to start her writing journey and communicate her thoughts on paper. It was wonderful to see and I felt incredibly proud. Sometimes children just need the opportunity to have a go. This free Christmas printable will hopefully inspire your child to share their Christmas wish with you.
