Once you’ve tried this gorgeous DIY strawberry scented play dough, you’ll make it again and again!

DIY Strawberry Scented Play dough

As a child I always loved things that smelt great. Strawberry was a favourite, I remember. Now, there are lots of great scented play dough recipes on the Internet but I decided to share with you my fabulous recipe.

DIY Strawberry Scented Playdough

RECIPE

2 cups plain flour
1 table salt
2 tbsp oil
4 tbsp cream of tartar
2 cups boiling water
food colouring

Begin by combining the flour, cream or tartar, salt, oil and water into a blow. Mix it together with a spoon until it combines well and you’re able to knead it into a dough form.

I added a cap full (roughly 1 tsp) of strawberry essence to my mixture and red food colouring for visual appeal.

Kneed the dough well to disperse the colouring and fragrance. You can certainly add more if it’s required.

Keep in mind that the more colouring you add to the play dough the higher the possibility that your child will end with red hands. Add just enough colour to reach a gorgeous pink shade.

You might like to shape your play dough so it looks like a large strawberry. It will be a great visual for your child.

Possum was absolutely thrilled to play with the strawberry scented playdough. It gave me an opportunity to show her how we smell with our nose and she laughed after giving it a sniff. She was quite attracted to the mint as well.

Would your children enjoy this scented playdough?

      hahaha
My brain was thinking cloves too when I initially responded to you but yes, they are pepper corns. Thank you for your kind comment Amie.
